1954 Chevrolet Pick-Up |
|

Owner: Kenneth K. Fletcher
Location: Columbia, SC
When Kenneth Fletcher bought this 1954 Chevy Pick-Up it was in “terrible, extinct condition.” The retired Sergeant Major (US Army) acquired the truck 11 years ago just to put an engine in it, run it on a track on base, then sell it when he left the military post. But Kenneth ended up storing the vehicle for several years and while overseas began buying parts and sending them home. He started rebuilding the Chevy after returning to the States and now it is a thing of beauty. The ’54 pick-up has a 1989 Camaro front, rear end positive traction, a turbo hydromatic 400 transmission and a remanufactured 300-horse power 360 ci long block engine. Add the custom wheels, paint, grill and hardwood floor in the bed and Kenneth’s ’54 Chevy is a remarkable version of its former self.
